About this Blog

This blog is my place to:

1. post random scripts, rc files etc

2. do my little to encourage GNU / Linux / FOSS (Free and Open Source Software)

3. keep log of the progress of my life

4. post stuff that I may find interesting.

Why is this blog called KStars?

1. I’m bigtime into amateur astronomy and it was KStars (http://edu.kde.org/kstars) that triggered my interest in the same.

2. My contribution to FOSS / Open Source Projects began with KStars

3. My IRC nick is kstar and somebody already had kstar.wordpress.com when I registered

4. akarsh.wordpress.com was also registered. akarshsimha.wordpress.com is too long.

Hello, I am an acoustician from the USA. You mentioned in your post “The acoustics at Hamsadhwani was the major turnoff.”

As a physicists, can you tell me what you observed? Insufficient clarity? Too much reverberance? Are you commenting about the room or the audio system? Other qualities? Also, I would be most interested in knowing about the music performed.

If photos or other basic information are available regarding the hall, I would be most appreciative if you could send these also.

Thank you in advance for your assistance! Richard

“Hamsadhwani” is an open-air auditorium, so reverb is lacking. Besides, I guess the volume was a bit too low that day.
